AppFence checks the foreground app every 800 milliseconds. When a blocked app is detected, the block screen appears within about 1 second. The child sees a "This app has been restricted" message with a "Go Home" button.
You receive an instant push notification with the app name and package. The install is logged in the Alerts tab where you can review it and block it with one tap. If Auto-block Games is enabled, games are blocked automatically.
After 3 failed PIN attempts, a "Forgot PIN? Reset AppFence" option appears. This erases all AppFence data and restarts the setup process. Your blocklist and settings will be cleared, but no other data on the device is affected.
